2020 ANNUAL CONFERENCE - POSTPONED

Queen's Landing, Niagara-On-The-Lake
October 18-21, 2020

The OACP staff and I have been working hard for many months in order to plan, develop, and deliver the 2020 OACP Annual Conference in June 2020.  We recognize that the conference is something that you all look forward to each year for both the educational programs and the opportunity to network with your colleagues from every corner of the province.

We have monitored the ongoing impact of COVID-19 and as a result, I have made the difficult decision to cancel the June 2020 Conference.  We are fortunate that by making this decision at this time, the OACP will not incur any penalties.

While the June conference will not take place, please note that we have a hold on the dates of October 18-21, 2020 at the same venue to possibly hold a Fall conference. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation to determine if the conference, in some form, can go ahead then.  The OACP will provide further information on this going forward as often and as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and, most importantly, thank you to all of you and your staff, both civilian and sworn, for continuing to make all of us proud to be in this profession with you.

Jeff McGuire

OACP Executive Director

The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) will celebrate 69 years of serving Ontario’s senior police leaders and our communities at its 2020 Annual Conference at Queen's Landing, Niagara-On-The-Lake.

  ______________________________________________________________________

In 1951, the OACP was established as the voice of Ontario’s police leaders. In the decades since Chief Clarence Bagnall served as the OACP’s first President, the OACP has continued to advocate on behalf of its members and their communities on important public policy issues, provide its members with educational conferences and seminars, and serve as a conduit for police leaders to share ideas and solutions to the challenges facing policing.

During the past 69 years, our association has grown to properly and professionally address the needs of our members. We are much more robust to meet the information and service needs of our membership in an ever changing world. The OACP has also forged new and stronger partnerships with government and other policing stakeholders based on our belief that working together, we can accomplish more on behalf of our members and all Ontarians.

Our 2020 Annual Conference’s theme is "Leadership Matters: Today and Tomorrow"

To all the police leaders who have served through and along with the OACP, we honour your legacy. To all the police leaders who make the OACP today’s voice of Ontario’s police leaders, we thank you for your professionalism, your passion and your dedication.

Sincerely,

Jeff McGuire
Executive Director
